CHILDREN:

  • Children 7 years and older, accompanied by an adult, are welcome
  • Children under 16 will receive a 20% discount off the regular rate when staying in their own suite (20% off the sharing rate when sharing with an adult or another child and 20% off the single rate when alone in a room)
  • Children (max 1 per Suite) under 16 sharing with 2 adults will be charged 50% of the per person rate; they will be accommodated on a sleeper couch in a standard Suite
  • Children 16 years and older are considered adults and will therefore require a separate room at the applicable rate

ARRIVAL TIMES & TRIP ITINERARY:

  • Check- in time is between 15h00 and 16h00 and check-out time is at 10h00 at completion of cruise
  • On day one, guests travelling by road to Kasane, Botswana, are requested to arrive at Kasane immigration at no later than 15h30 as the border closes at 16h30
  • We will try to accommodate reasonable requests for an early check-in or late departure but this cannot be guaranteed
  • Guests can only arrive on scheduled sailing dates.
  • The cruise consists of a continuous 2 night or 3 night programme on the Zambezi Queen (please note these dates will change over the Christmas and New Year 2009 period where only 3 day trips will run; please view our website or contact our office for further details)
  • The boat will be moored at three different locations along the Chobe River on the Namibian side. The first night is spent on the banks of the Chobe River close to where you clear customs, the 2nd night about 20km away on the banks of the river near a cultural village, and for guests on the 3 night cruise, the boat will stop at another point on the banks of the river. The boat motors back early on the last morning of each trip.
  • All accommodation is onboard the Zambezi Queen.
  • Departure from the boat at the end of the cruise is at 10h00 - all passengers will be transferred back to Kasane (Botswana) Immigration.

ACCOMMODATION:

  • Zambezi Queen offers 8 Suites and 6 Master Suites - maximum of 2 persons per Suite except for 4 suites which incorporate sofa couches which can be used by a child under the age of sixteen.
  • All suites are en-suite with king size beds which can be converted to 2 single beds on request.
  • All suites have private balconies and fans, full length sliding shutter doors for both privacy and protection from the sun, mosquito screens and the finest finishes.
  • Two Master Suites have their own private deck with outdoor furniture and the remaining two having superb panoramic views with sliding doors on two sides.

FACILITIES ON BOARD:

  • On entering the first of 3 decks, guests will find a well appointed air-conditioned reading room which includes a library of books on the fauna, flora and history of the area, numerous games, and a computer facility with internet. This level also includes a curio shop and cruise director's office.
  • The remainder of the first deck and the entire second deck contains the 8 Suites and 6 Master Suites.
  • The third level/entertainment deck includes the following: dining facilities, an open plan lounge area with unobstructed views, a computerised telescope for exploring the African night sky, a fireplace and a well appointed bar with the finest wines and spirits.
  • All internal areas on the top deck are protected by mosquito screens which allow for a comfortable environment for dining and relaxing.
  • There are two outside areas on the top deck, one aft which provides a shaded area with comfortable seating and the other on the foredeck which includes a plunge pool and sun bathing area.

ACTIVITIES FROM BOAT:

  • Water-based game viewing on tender boats enabling close-up viewing in an environment where the animals do not feel threatened.
  • Zambezi Queen has its own guides, all groomed by Garth Thompson, world-renowned expert in the field of guiding in Africa.
  • Tiger and bream fishing in season
  • Bird watching from tender boats and Zambezi Queen
  • A private small game viewing boat including a guide can be hired at R975/day

ACTIVITIES IN AREA:

  • Land-based 4x4 game viewing in Botswana's Chobe National Park
  • A land-based cultural tour of local village
  • A light aircraft or helicopter available for transfer from Victoria Falls. Including sight seeing tour over the Falls.
  • 9 hole golf course at Kasane.
  • Spa facility in Kasane (subject to availability).

GENERAL:

  • Every effort will be made to cater for travelers' dietary needs subject to the operators of the Zambezi Queen being notified at least 30 (thirty) days prior to departure of such needs and provided that the request is reasonable in the circumstances.
  • Loud music is absolutely not permitted due to National Park requirements.

PAYMENT TERMS:

  • A non-refundable 30% deposit is required in order to confirm a booking.
  • The full balance is required 90 days prior to departure.
  • If a reservations is made 90 days or less prior to departure, a full non-refundable payment is required to confirm the booking. Should payment not be received timeously, Zambezi Queen reserves the right to automatically cancel such reserved accommodation.

CANCELLATION POLICY (NON-GROUP):

  • If a cancellation is made 121 days or more prior to departure, the deposit will be refunded less R1 000 service charge per person.
  • If a cancellation is made 120 - 91 days prior to departure, all deposits are non-refundable.
  • If a cancellation is made 90 days or less prior to departure, full payment will be applied as the cancellation penalty.

GROUP BOOKING POLICY:

  • Any party reserving 10 or more cabins is considered a group
  • A 10% discount will apply to group bookings

VISAS:

It is the responsibility of the traveller to determine the nature of any travel documentation and visas required and to ensure that all his/her travel documentation, including but not limited to passports, any necessary visas and medical certificates have been obtained and are in order.
